The “fast food” of this dumpling and Korean noodles restaurant. Saw snaking long queue during the day (lunch time), and table seating dependent on group size. Tables and seats are cramped so best to shop after meals. Bigger groups can head off to the other building. Standard 1 page menu. Food’s promptly serve the moment u have ordered. Their kimchi is very garlic-ky, something for garlic lovers. Spicy noodles are cold noodles, and dumplings are good. Had mine during the dinner hours when the crowd size is not huge.

This might be one of the best value Michelin-recognized meals in the world. An absolute Seoul classic that lives up to the hype. Yes, there was a long line stretching down the stairs when we arrived, but don’t let that scare you off, it moves surprisingly fast, especially if you’re just two people like we were. The process is efficient and well-organized. We ordered the two top items on the menu: the dumplings and the signature noodle dish. Both were excellent. The dumplings were juicy, delicate, and full of flavor, clearly made with experience and consistency refined over decades. The noodles were comforting, deeply satisfying, and perfectly balanced. Simple food done exceptionally well. No unnecessary flair, just confidence in tradition and execution. The atmosphere is busy and no-nonsense, but that’s part of the charm, you’re here to eat, and they deliver. An iconic experience, incredibly affordable for the quality, and a must-visit when in Seoul. Highly recommended.

Be prepared for a long Q The turnaround is pretty fast Only a few dishes served here Noodles - OK for me. Good to be eaten especially during cold season. Soup is well seasoned. Dumplings- nice prefer this over the noodle. Pay in advance before food being served. Credit card is accepted. Free flor kimchi is served on table. Complimentary water is available.

We went here because it was close to our hotel and it was Michelin recommended. Our first impression was that it was efficient. There are multiple levels and when you walk in they direct you to certain levels. Then once you get to the right level you have to put your order in and pay as soon as you walk in. Don’t worry you won’t feel a lot of pressure because there are only four menu items: hot soup, dumplings, cold noodles, and a seasonal soup. We ordered the hot noodle soup and dumplings. They came out quick and hot. We didn’t fall in love with the dumplings and thought they needed soy sauce. The soup was tasty though. Overall, it was worth a try but didn’t blow us away. We appreciated the service and it being quick but not feeling rushed.

Food was lovely. Simple food done well. To eat here is an experience in itself. Luckily no wait when we arrived at 12pm on a Monday. Only 4 menu items, you must order and pay before you sit. Credit card OK. Your food comes almost immediately once you are seated. We were so thankful they had baby chair and organised it for us right away. Service was no frills but so efficient, just the way we like it. I wouldn’t wait in a long queue, but if there is a short queue it moves very fast.

Saw this main store and decided to try. The boss at the entrance was very friendly and was controlling and directing the crowd to the correct levels. However, the staff at the level upstairs were pretty rude and just brushed you aside when they can't understand English. The place is narrow and cramp and not as clean. However, their food was nice, especially the cold noodles. Dumplings were ok. As there is always a queue, be prepared to queue if you want to eat here.

We were fortunate to come here at 10.30am and there’s no Q. The broth was wonderfully tasty and the noodles slightly chewy and a lovely marriage of both. I would return again. Walk past this at 12.30pm and there’s was a long line of people waiting to go in, I would Q as it’s fast. Highly recommended.

Myeongdong Kyoja is a must-visit in Seoul for its legendary Kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) and incredibly flavorful garlic kimchi. The rich, smoky broth and thin-skinned dumplings are simply outstanding. Despite the long lines, the service is remarkably fast and efficient, making it a perfect spot for an authentic Michelin-recommended meal.
